COBRA is the temporary offering of a company’s group health coverage to eligible employees, their spouses and/or dependents after a qualifying event, such as voluntary or involuntary job loss, reduction in hours worked, death, or divorce. Eligible participants can apply to receive the same benefits and rights that a group health plan gives to active employees. If an eligible participant elects to continue their benefits under COBRA, he or she is responsible for paying the entire premium up to 102% of the cost of your plan.
Our in-house technology experts strive to make the COBRA process seamless and as painless as possible. From initial setup through implementation, we take care of every step for COBRA-eligible benefits, including:
- Determining eligibility according to the qualifying event
- Sending timely notices that reflect current legal requirements
- Handling premium billing and collections
- Providing monthly reports to both employers and carriers
- Answering COBRA participant questions
